Oh no. I'm so sad to see this a day late. Had lunch at Sandy's just prior to COVID with Barb Gellatly and Brian. Jeff extended the Armatage Discount ❤️ and chatted on his way out. He looked strong and fit. R.I.P. Jeff.

Oh damn!  I am so sad to see this!  Jeff was such a sweetheart... always kind, caring and so funny!  Had a nice flash from the past lunch with Jeff at Sandy's a couple years ago with a friend, loved catching up.  Condolences to his family.  He will be missed.

I've had a soft spot for Jeff ever since he and Reed became such good friends in high school. He was forever kicking around our house. The visit I remember most vividly was when he came into the kitchen, watched me smoke a cigarette for a minute or two, and then about died laughing. It seems I wasn't inhaling. Inhaling? What's that? So he taught me. I could easily have smoked for the next 40 years (in fact, I did) and never known the difference. Thanks, Jeff.

How sad that he is gone. I haven't laid eyes on him since Heaven only knows when, but when I think of Reed I always think of Jeff as well. My condolences to his family and his friends.

Jeff and I sat next to each other in band. One time during band practice we were goofing around and he threw a mute at me and I needed a couple stitches in my forhead. I told Mr. Stoyke I cut my forhead on the music stand bending over to pick something up. Later, Jefff wanted me to punch him in the nose to make up for it, but I didn't take him up on that. He was a great guy.

It seems like EVERYONE loved Jeff. I found this on Sandy's page:

Sandy's will not open Wednesday the 16th until 2pm due to a funeral.
We will be saying goodbye to one of our own.

With great sadness, I am sorry to say, Sandy's has lost one of their own. Eric was Sandy's owner and lifeblood for forty years. He was amazing to work for and with. He taught me more than I will know.

Sleep well, Boss.

My very first day working at Sandy’s was Mother’s Day 2015. I knew I was in trouble when I had a line waiting to get in the door when I opened it at 11am. I was terrified I was going to lose my job, so the next morning the instant I woke up, I called Eric to ask how badly I #%*=ed up. I can still hear his voice… “every god damned ticket was wrong…” in his boss voice, and then “but you were so busy, anyone would have had mistakes, I’m not worried about it”.

And that’s Eric in a nutshell for me. He’s gonna let you have it… but he’s still always got your back.

I know every single person who worked at Sandy’s through the years has their favorite Eric stories but that’s mine. I will always miss our Sunday morning chats. Rest easy my dear friend.

I can hear him saying that!

I’ve known Eric since I was probably 6 or 7 years old by going to Sandy’s with my Dad. He’d always say, “How’s the prettiest girl in Richfield today?” He was the sweetest and will be greatly missed.

I was his daughter's Para at RHS. I remember my husband and I stopping in to Sandy's and introducing myself to him. He made me feel like a million dollars, telling me how much he appreciated me. He, Deb, and Daisha hold a very special place in my heart. If somebody could text me Deb's phone number, I would appreciate it. RIP Eric!

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear about this. My Dad and I spent many many Wed at Sandy’s discussing politics , sports and military with Eric. A few times dad would walk up to Sandy’s on his own and Eric was so kind to call myself or my husband to let us know he was there. Eric would let dad hang there to wait for one of us to pick him up. He was always so kind. Rest In Peace Eric. My condolences to his wife and daughter.

and we dearly loved your dad too.

He was the best boss I've ever had. He was so good to my family and I loved when he started telling one of his many stories! Take it easy Eric.

He always had a good story to tell! Rest in paradise, boss.

Eric was a great boss and an interesting character. I worked for him for nine years on and off. He hired me three times, fired me twice, lol. He was tough but forgiving. My sympathy goes out to his wife and daughter. Rest easy boss.

I dont miss many, but ill miss ya boss.

I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Erik Erik and ALL of the patrons at Sandy's treated me like gold during my 4 year tour of duty from 1986 - 1990

I wondered into Sandy's in May 1986 and within 3 hours I had an apartment lead Dry Cleaners (Sunshine) a bank and a girlfriend due to Erik and all the wonderful folks at Sandy's turned out Minneapolis was the BEST duty station ever during my 21 year Navy career

My heart goes out to Deb and Daisha

So sad I have memories of Jeff from my youth. He grew up and hung out with us!!!! RIP Jeff

RIP - he was so good to my dad for all of the 40 years.

Such a great guy. I always loved stopping in to see him.

That breaks my heart. RIP Eric, you are truly loved.

Oh man, this guy was the coolest. I am blessed to have so many wonderful memories to hold onto

Rest in Peace Eric! Thanks for the M&M’s friend.

I had many good times in and away from Sandy's with Erick. I knew him all those 40 years. Great friend. He will be missed.

I am so incredibly sad to hear this! Rest peacefully Eric.

Damn. He was one of the great ones.

A lot of my winter nights were spent on the ice at Armatage playing Pom-Pom Pullaway. Boys and girls of

all ages would play and I could keep up with most of them. Then a neighborhood boy named Jeff Erickson

started wearing long blades (speed skates) and any chance I had to catch him evaporated. He was unbeatable.

Since he only lived a few blocks away, we got to be good friends. I'll miss you Jeff.

My brother, Rog and I visited Sandy's to see Jeff after our 50th class reunion.  Jeff and I sat next to each other in school and I always had a secret crush on him.  As he was showing me the Yearbook that he kept under the bar he told me his mom read through all his autographs and told Jeff that this girl (me) had a crush on him.  I laughed but didn't deny it.  He said, "you always had boyfriends so how was I to know?" I told him that guys can be a bit slow about such things.  He turned beet red but laughed and said....have your burger free on me!  We interacted a bit on the SW website before and after that.  His last message to me was the end of April, 2022. He was looking forward to retirement and spending more time with his wife and daughter.  I was totally shocked at the news of his passing 5 months later.
